Meet Chelsea Elder, Development Director and Women’s Program Coordinator at Sportainability International. Chelsea first came alongside founder, Chris Wiegand, in 2010, volunteering time and effort to the success of Sportainability and its participants. Chelsea immediately recognized the immeasurable value of the program and invested herself in it, working seamlessly with Chris. While compassionately mentoring others to push past their own perceived limitations in the great outdoors, Chelsea also pushed past many of her own. Trading ballet shoes for climbing shoes, she overcame her own fears of the unknown in the outdoors. That which seemed unattainable, quickly became second nature.

Chelsea owned and operated a successful dance studio for many years, before selling it in 2010. Chelsea was passionate about working with children with disabilities and recommended by area medical professionals for her inclusive studio approach. A lover of combining mixed media, Chelsea created sign language incorporated and video interactive dance routines to uniquely bring awareness to social justice issues through dance. Teaching her students the importance of volunteering and stewardship.

Since beginning her journey with Sportainability, she has been an integral part of the organizations development and growth, acting in all duties of a Development Director. She currently mentors participants in climbing, dance, standup paddleboarding (SUP), and kayaking.
